Title: On (too many) discretizations of the total variation
Abstract: In this talk, I will try to review the study of various finite-difference of finite-element based discretizations of the total variations investigated in the recent years in collaboration with Thomas Pock (Graz) and Corentin Caillaud (Polytechnique), and their respective merits (error bounds, (an)isotropy properties) for the approximation of discontinuous functions.
